Many attorneys have a strong understanding of the law and legal system. Few, however, have the practical experience and technical knowledge in the fields in which their clients work. That is what differentiates Cleveland D. Bain from other attorneys in the field of construction law.
Before starting the practice of law, I owned and operated a Residential and Commercial Construction Company in Nashville, Tennessee. Projects included new home construction, residential remodeling and additions. The commercial division included new construction as well as interior buildouts for retail, office and medical buildings. I worked together with engineers, architects, subcontractors and craftsman to organize, schedule, budget, and complete a wide variety of projects. It is this technical and practical experience that creates a trust and understanding between me and the client.
During my time as a General Contractor, I realized how valuable it would be to other construction professionals to have an attorney that we be a knowledgeable advocate on their behalf. Always having an interest in the legal field, I choose to enroll in the Nashville School of Law. While in law school, I continued to operate the construction company. Upon graduating and obtaining a license to practice law, I chose to specialize in construction law.
